This is from Louisa Harding's "Natural Knits for Babies and Moms".
I changed it a little.
First the yarn was an acrylic and it seemed to knit up better on larger needles. On the smaller needles the fabric had a very harsh feel. I used 5.5mm needles and made the blanket wider and longer. It came out to 52cm(20.5") by 66cm(26"). It still looks very small. I guess it is a real crib blankie or maybe a tuck into a car seat blankie. The original pattern is alternating horizontal stripes of stocking stitch and garter stitch. I added the vertical garter stitch which has had the effect of gathering the fabric a little. I prefer that to the long stripes.
